About Us

Blueline Rescue

Proudly operated by UCF RESTORES, Blueline Rescue is dedicated to the mission of serving law enforcement personnel and their families in their times of need. We are a community of law enforcement personnel and professions committed to serving those who serve selflessly behind the badge.

This site grew out of one firefighter's commitment to resiliency and recovery through connectivity to the entire first responder community.

This mission is built on the foundation of connecting law enforcement and their families to trained peer providers and culturally competent clinicians in their times of need. Through education and community, this movement helps provide the support needed to deliver sustainable healing for the law enforcement family.

Originally launched as part of Redline Rescue, Blueline Rescue has benefitted from grants from The Center for Law Enforcement Technology, Training & Research, a grant from the State of Florida Department of Children and Families (LH843) and from the support of First Lady Casey DeSantis.

How do I become listed as a

Peer Support Provider or Clinician?

Blueline Rescue uses artificial intelligence to match the specialties/experience of peer support specialists and clinicians to law enforcement and their families who are seeking support. Please carefully check the options that best describe your personal and professional experience with stress and trauma. Law enforcement personnel in need will be able to search for peer support providers on personal characteristics, physical location, and experience with a variety of stressors. For clinicians, first responders will be able to search based on physical location, insurances accepted, availability of a sliding fee scale, and areas of clinical expertise.

To become a peer support provider:

  1. You must first complete a recognized peer support training course. Currently, graduates of 2 peer support training programs are recognized by Blueline Rescue. At this time, they include UCF REACT Training Peer Support, NOVA Peer Support and CISM Training Program Certificate. This is not meant to be exclusive - if you were trained in another peer support program, please contact us so we can review the training curriculum. You will need to upload your certificate as part of the registration process.
  2. You will be asked to list the areas of emotional distress where you feel that you have personal or professional experience. With respect to four common categories of emotional stress – anger, addiction, anxiety/trauma, and depression/suicide – you will see a series of short videos for each of these areas. Each video will have four options using the green, yellow, orange and red designations, which you learned in your training. For each of the four areas – watch the four short videos and click on the color which best describes your personal experience with these areas. For example, if you have never had a problem with addiction, you would click the green video. If you have had personal struggles with addiction, click the video that best illustrates your experience.
  3. Upload a “headshot” photo of yourself. Do not include other individuals, your pets, or any other physical objects. The picture should show you in work or casual, but appropriate, attire. Blueline Rescue reserves the right to reject any picture that does not meet these guidelines.

To become a registered clinician:

  1. You must complete the Cultural Competency Workshop (for law enforcement) and a 10-hour ride along with a law enforcement agency. Be sure to keep your documentation as you will need to upload it into the registration portal.
  2. Carefully go through the list of specialties, indicating your area of expertise.
  3. Upload a "headshot" photo of yourself. Do not include other individuals, your pets, or any other physical objects. The picture should show you in business or business casual attire. Blueline Rescue reserves the right to reject any picture that does not meet these guidelines.
